On the Yachiho Plateau in Kita Yatsugatake, just a minute’s drive from Hut Juksul, another thoughtfully crafted hut has joined the Sanson Terrace brand. This cozy retreat was curated and renovated by my good friend Ken Lake, whose passion for utilizing reclaimed materials and harmony with nature can be felt throughout the space.
Ken selected materials with care, ensuring that nothing disrupted the surrounding environment. The result is a hut that feels at one with the forest, a quiet place where birdsong greets you in the morning, and the changing seasons pass gently outside your window. In the evenings, the dimmable lights allow moonlight to pour in and create a soft, shifting atmosphere, giving the hut a different feel from day to night.
This is a stay for those wanting to slow down and connect with themselves and nature. It’s not uncommon to see a bug or small critter passing through. This hut truly shares space with the outdoors. If you’re looking for a place where nature isn’t just the backdrop but the main character, we invite you to come and experience it for yourself.
